Social

socialTruman State Delta Chi boasts a very strong social program each year. After all, we are a SOCIAL fraternity. Each semester we host the largest parties on campus in our recreation building behind the house. In addition to our planned theme parties, we also host mixers with sororities and all-greeks. Our social coordinators and committee members spend countless hours planning every event we host so that our parties maintain the reputation of being the safest on campus.

Partying Smart:

  • Always bring a friend when going out or alert others of where you will be.

  • Our bartenders can help you with any problems you may be having. If for some reason you cannot find a Delta Chi among the crowd, please come to the bar and alert us of any problems.

  • Sober Drivers are always available. Please feel free to take advantage of them. Never attempt to drive after drinking, regardless of how much you've had. It's not a good idea.

Each year we host at least 6 large parties that we budget for in advance. Below is a list of our major social events each school year.

Each September we host our Balloon Party. By inflating over 5,000 balloons in our building, we can "party waist deep." We use fans to direct the balloons away from doors and our stage for everyone's safety.

This is our campus-wide legendary party. Ask any upper classman and they will tell you, "CYP is the one party you HAVE to go to." Originally started as a small halloween costume party in 1995, this party is still going strong. We spare no expense to make this party something we all remember.

Started as an idea by the Beta Zeta AM class, brothers Mike D, Eric Pogue, and Grant Dail made this party worthy of repeating. Truman lacks any real night clubs for students, so for this party we turn the whole place into a night club, complete with extra lighting effects, black lights, free glow sticks, and much, much more.

Dateless? Lonely? Have a date and just hate that there're only formals around Valentine's Day? Kick it with us right before that fateful "Couples' Day."

New Orleans is a good 14 hours from Kirksville, but the same atmosphere is only 100 yards behind Centennial Hall. Red and Gold beads by the case, masks, and a beautifully decorated building bring late February to life.

A taste of summer in the spring. Flowers, palm trees, and leis. Our "last hurrah" in the spring. Originally started in the early 90s, we've revamped this party into something special. We decorate our building to turn it into a tropical paradise. This is definitely our biggest spring party and is definitely worth stopping by.
